Summer Deer Migration
It was one of the largest snow years on record. We know based on our knowledge of the area that deer won’t be able to migrate through the snow covered passes this year. There will likely be an influx of animals near our road systems, and our odds of a run in will increase drastically.
Be most cautious up to the hour after dawn, and the hour before dusk, especially you commuters of 395. Drive slowly and use your high beams whenever possible at night.
Should you see a deer near the road or in your way, brake evenly and do not swerve. And if you should hit an animal, pull off to the side of the road to survey the damages. Check out this guide to preventing or dealing with deer-vehicle collisions.
Be safe and cautious out there this summer!
